Pakistan Navy Successfully Tests Indigenous Taimoor Cruise Missile
Pakistan Navy has successfully carried out a test of its locally developed “Taimoor” air-launched cruise missile, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations said the live firing of the Taimoor missile—an indigenous anti-ship weapon system—demonstrated the Navy’s strong precision strike capability and operational preparedness.
According to ISPR, the missile performed its mission with high accuracy, confirming the Pakistan Navy’s ability to detect, track, and effectively neutralize enemy maritime threats over long distances.
The statement further described the test as a “major enhancement of national defence capability,” highlighting its significance for strengthening operational readiness.
It added that the trial had improved the Pakistan Armed Forces’ “multi-dimensional, coordinated strike posture” in conventional warfare.
The Pakistan Navy reaffirmed its commitment to defending the country’s maritime interests and safeguarding its territorial waters.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the President, Prime Minister, Chief of Defence Forces, and all service chiefs congratulated the scientists and engineers involved in achieving this milestone.
Separately, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the successful missile test, calling it a “milestone” in Pakistan’s defence advancement. He also extended congratulations to the nation and emphasized that the Pakistan Navy remains fully committed to protecting the country’s maritime borders.
