Military leadership praises scientists and engineers behind missile programme
Fatah-IV equipped with advanced navigation and precision targeting technology
The Pakistan Army Rocket Force Command on Thursday successfully carried out a test fire of the locally developed Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile, according to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In its statement, ISPR said the missile system features advanced avionics and modern navigational technology, enabling it to strike long-range targets with a high level of precision.
The military explained that the training launch was aimed at improving the operational preparedness of troops while also testing the performance and accuracy of various upgraded subsystems designed to enhance the missile’s survivability and effectiveness.
Senior officials from the Pakistan Army Rocket Force Command, as well as scientists and engineers associated with the missile development programme, witnessed the successful training exercise.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu congratulated the teams involved in the successful launch. They praised the dedication, technical expertise and commitment of everyone who contributed to the F-series missile programme.
Later, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also congratulated the nation on the achievement, describing the successful test as a major advancement in Pakistan’s defence sector. He applauded the scientists and engineers behind the project and stated that Pakistan’s defence remained strong and secure.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the successful launch represented another important step in strengthening Pakistan’s indigenous defence technology and strategic deterrence capabilities.
The development comes less than three weeks after the Pakistan Army Rocket Force Command successfully conducted a training launch of the indigenously developed Fateh-II missile system. Earlier, in September 2025, Pakistan had also carried out a successful training launch of the Fatah-IV cruise missile with a range of 750 kilometres.
