Pakistan Women End Zimbabwe Series Unbeaten with Convincing Victory

Pakistan wrapped up the three-match T20I series in emphatic fashion, defeating Zimbabwe by 133 runs at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Friday to complete a clean 3-0 sweep.

The home side delivered a complete performance with both bat and ball. Half-centuries from Saira Jabeen and captain Fatima Sana powered Pakistan to a huge total, while spinner Sadia Iqbal led the bowling attack with a brilliant three-wicket spell to seal the dominant victory.

Chasing a daunting target of 224, Zimbabwe struggled from the start and were bowled out for just 90 in 17.1 overs.

Kelis Ndhlovu provided the only real resistance for the visitors with an aggressive 32 off 13 balls, smashing six fours and a six. Adel Zimunu added 18 runs, while Michelle Mavunga contributed 13, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to handle Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack.

Sadia Iqbal was the standout performer with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 20 runs in her three overs. Nashra Sandhu also impressed with economical figures of 2/21, while Tuba Hassan, Rameen Shamim and Fatima Sana chipped in with a wicket each.

Earlier, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana chose to bat first — a decision that paid off brilliantly as the Green Shirts posted a massive 223/4 in their 20 overs.

Pakistan’s opening pair, Muneeba Ali and Ayesha Zafar, gave the innings a flying start by adding 58 runs during the powerplay. Muneeba scored 22 off 17 deliveries before Lindokuhle Mabhero broke the partnership in the seventh over.

Mabhero struck again shortly after, dismissing Ayesha Zafar, who played a superb knock of 45 from just 28 balls, hitting nine boundaries.

Pakistan briefly lost momentum after Natalia Pervaiz was dismissed, leaving the team at 93/3 in the 11th over. However, Iram Javed and Saira Jabeen steadied the innings with a valuable 49-run partnership.

After Iram departed for 29, Saira teamed up with captain Fatima Sana for a destructive late assault. The pair added 71 runs together, completely shifting the momentum in Pakistan’s favour.

Fatima Sana stole the show with a sensational unbeaten 62 off only 19 balls, smashing 10 fours and two sixes. Saira Jabeen also remained unbeaten after scoring 50 from 32 deliveries, including eight boundaries.

For Zimbabwe, Lindokuhle Mabhero was the most successful bowler with figures of 2/36, while Michelle Mavunga and Beloved Biza claimed one wicket each.
