Security Forces Eliminate Five Militants in Tank, DI Khan
Five Terrorists Killed in KP Operations: ISPR
Security forces killed five terrorists during two separate intelligence-based operations in Tank and Dera Ismail Khan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In Tank district, troops launched an operation after receiving intelligence reports about the presence of militants. During a heavy exchange of fire, four terrorists linked to the Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij were killed, the military’s media wing said.
In a separate operation in DI Khan, one terrorist was killed during a firefight with security personnel.
The ISPR said weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain militants, who were allegedly involved in several terrorist activities in the region.
A sanitisation operation is underway to clear the area of any remaining militants.
The military reiterated that Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-i-Istehkam” would continue to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in militant attacks since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021. Islamabad has repeatedly called on the Afghan Taliban to act against militant hideouts linked to the banned TTP operating from Afghan territory.
