Caretaker Couple Shot Dead Inside Mardan Gurdwara

MARDAN: A husband and wife were shot dead after an unidentified gunman opened fire inside a Gurdwara in Babu Mohallah, located in Mardan’s Khwaja Ganj Bazaar, on Wednesday.

According to police and Rescue 1122 officials, the victims were believed to be serving as caretakers of the Gurdwara at the time of the incident. The assailant fled the scene after carrying out the attack.

Police personnel and rescue teams promptly arrived at the location and secured the area. Senior officials, including Mardan District Police Officer (DPO) Masood Ahmad, SSP Investigation Maria Mustafa, ASP City, and the SHO of Hoti Police Station, visited the crime scene to oversee the initial investigation and gather evidence.

Authorities said the case is being investigated from multiple angles. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the killings, while further inquiries into the motive behind the attack continue.
