India Become T20 World Champions for the Third Time

The India national cricket team won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 after defeating the New Zealand national cricket team in a one-sided final.

With this victory, India became the first team to win back-to-back T20 World Cups, winning in 2024 and 2026. It was also India’s third T20 World Cup title.

Strong Batting by India

India batted first and scored a huge total of 255 runs.

Openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma gave India a powerful start. Both played attacking cricket and hit many boundaries. Abhishek Sharma, who was not in good form earlier, made a great comeback and played an excellent innings when his team needed him the most.

In the middle order, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya continued the aggressive batting and kept the run rate high.

At the end, Shivam Dube finished the innings very well with some big shots, helping India reach 255 runs.

New Zealand Could Not Chase the Target

While chasing the big total, New Zealand opener Tim Seifert started well and showed attacking intent. However, no other batter supported him.

In the middle, captain Mitchell Santner tried to play an anchor innings, but the target was too big.

New Zealand were all out for 159 runs in 19 overs.

A One-Sided Final

Even though India won the World Cup, the final was not very exciting because the match was one-sided. India played excellent cricket, but New Zealand could not show much fight.

In the end, India won easily and became T20 World Champions again, making history with two consecutive World Cup victories. 🏆
