The excitement around HBL PSL 11 continues to build as franchises actively make use of the PCB’s newly introduced direct signing window. After the first major overseas signing earlier, two more blockbuster deals have now been confirmed, strengthening the squads of Islamabad United and Karachi Kings ahead of the 2026 season.

The first-ever direct signing of PSL 11 was made by Sialkot Stallions, who stunned the cricketing world by securing Australian legend Steve Smith for USD 320,000. The signing marked a historic moment for the league, as it set the tone for franchises to lock in elite international players ahead of the auction. Smith’s vast experience, technical brilliance, and leadership qualities are expected to play a crucial role in strengthening Sialkot Stallions’ campaign.

Islamabad United have made a powerful statement by directly signing New Zealand’s star batter David Conway for a hefty price of PKR 6.30 crore. Known for his consistency, calm temperament, and ability to dominate bowlers in both powerplay and middle overs, Conway brings immense international experience to the Islamabad camp. His inclusion is expected to add stability at the top order and provide leadership in crucial moments during the tournament.

Soon after, Karachi Kings responded with an even bigger move by securing the services of England’s spin-bowling all-rounder Moeen Ali for PKR 6.44 crore. Moeen Ali’s vast T20 experience across global leagues, combined with his explosive batting and clever off-spin, makes him a complete match-winner. For Karachi Kings, this signing addresses both their middle-order firepower and spin bowling needs, making them a far more balanced side for PSL 11.

However, not all the news surrounding PSL 11 is positive. Peshawar Zalmi and their fans received heartbreaking news as their star batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore (TKC) officially announced that he will not be available for the PSL 11 edition. The English batter cited his son’s upcoming operation as the reason for his withdrawal. In a heartfelt message, TKC wished good luck to Peshawar Zalmi for the auction and the season ahead, earning respect and support from fans across the cricketing world.

With big names joining through direct signings and emotional farewells already shaping narratives, PSL 11 is gearing up to be one of the most dramatic and star-studded editions yet. As the auction approaches, franchises will be looking to fill remaining gaps and build squads capable of lifting the coveted PSL trophy.
