Sialkot Stallions Renamed as Multan Sultans – “South Punjab Is Back”
In a big change in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Sialkot Stallions have now been renamed as Multan Sultans after new owners took control of the team.
At the start of the season, Oz Groups bought the franchise. But later, they sold 98% of their shares to CD Ventures. After buying the shares, CD Ventures decided to give the team a new name and new identity.
What Happened Before?
Before this deal, CD Ventures had tried to buy the original Multan team in the PSL auction. However, Wali Tech Group made a huge bid of 245 crore rupees and won the team.
After winning, Wali Tech Group changed the team’s name to Pindiz, which represents Rawalpindi city.
Why the Name Change?
Since CD Ventures wanted the Multan identity, they decided to buy shares from Oz Groups and rename Sialkot Stallions as Multan Sultans. The new name represents South Punjab and its cricket fans.
In a press conference, the new owners gave a strong message:
“South Punjab is back.”
This rebranding means a fresh start for the team and new excitement for PSL fans
