PSL Makes History with First-Ever Grand Auction Night – Record Bids, Emotional Returns & Power-Packed Squads Revealed
The Pakistan Super League created history last night as it held its first-ever full player auction, and what a night it turned out to be! From intense bidding wars to emotional homecomings and record-breaking deals, PSL fans witnessed one of the most dramatic evenings in the league’s history.
Franchises went all out to build strong squads for the upcoming season, and several unexpected bids shocked the cricketing world.
💰 Biggest Bids of the Night
The auction started with a bang as Faheem Ashraf became the first player to go under the hammer. A fierce bidding battle between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators saw the price soar before Islamabad United secured him for Rs 8.50 crore.
However, the biggest headline of the night belonged to Naseem Shah, who became the most expensive player of the auction, bought by Rawalpindi for a massive Rs 8.65 crore.
Rawalpindi didn’t stop there. They further strengthened their squad by signing New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell for Rs 8.05 crore, making it one of the strongest combinations in the league.
Meanwhile:
Lahore Qalandars showed huge faith in Fakhar Zaman (Rs 7.95 crore) and Haris Rauf (Rs 7.60 crore).
Karachi Kings made a statement signing by bringing in David Warner for Rs 7.90 crore.
🔄 Emotional Homecomings
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the auction was players returning to their home franchises:
Faheem Ashraf and Wasim Jr returned to Islamabad United.
Aamir Jamal reunited with Peshawar Zalmi.
